What to wear for a engagement shoot?

Updated: Feb 24, 2019

The goal is to match the mood and location of your shoot..

You are getting married CONGRATULATIONS! I love engagement sessions because they give me a chance to get to know my my clients and they allow my clients to know me. And it helps a couple to get comfortable before the lens before the wedding day.

Firstly it's time to show off the ring and to capture the newly engaged glow with a a engagement shoot. You are making a investment to have professional photos taken, you should look your best. Being comfortable is essential but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get a little fabulous. After you have decided were your shoot will be it is time to begin planning what you'll wear. Begin with establishing a clear vision for what you want the shoot to be and the mood you want to establish. Romantic and dreamy? Outdoors and woodsy? Classic and elegant? Vintage & old school. Wear something that you would actually wear to the location.

Your engagement shoot is a opportunity to express yourself and your relationship, so keep that in mind wile planning your outfits. Wear clothes that make you feel like you.

*Wear outfits that compliment each other but not matchy-matchy. Draw up a color palette.

*Do not wear bold logos or prints that do not compliment each other.

*Only prepare one outfit because outfit changes are unnecessary ,you can always bring a hat,coat,scarf or ,red lipstick to mix things up.

*Layers and accessories can add so much dept and interest in your photos.

*If you do not feel comfortable in a outfit you will not look comfortable.

*Ladies always bring a extra pair of comfortable shoes if you are wearing heels .

* Classic &timeless goes a long way .

*Professional hair and makeup is a bonus but not a must. (Tip: Book your Hair and Makeup trail on the same day as the shoot so that you can see how it appears on camera.)

*Ladies bring a small makeup kit for touch ups like lips,face powder& small mirror

*Bring hairbrush, hairspray, small towel or hankie for perspiring faces and water bottles.

The most important tip is to be yourself, but the best version of yourself. Elevate your outfit beyond everyday so that you will have engagement photos that you will want to show of years to come.
